Mal has been in the Banking and Finance Industry since 1976. He took up a partnership with a national finance broker in 2001. Prior to this he spent 20 years covering the mid North Coast of New South Wales from Port Macquarie to Lismore for the commercial finance business of Esanda Finance. Mal understands the many and varied needs of businesses in the area and realises the importance of customer contact and service. He has specialist expertise in Commercial Fishing, Road Transport and Dairying.

He is heavily involved in his local community and carries out services work with clubs such as APEX. He is a prior President of the local Coffs Harbour Club. He and his family have also taken a keen interest in raising money and awareness for Camp Quality (supporting kids with cancer).
