Scott's Banking and Finance career commenced in his home town of Bundaberg in 1981 with the ANZ Bank. In the ensuing 20 years he held numerous management positions in ANZ and Esanda in regional South East Queensland. He has extensive experience in wholesale and retail facilities for motor dealers, residential and commercial property development, as well as equipment finance for the business community. In 1992, Scott was appointed Business Finance Manager at Esanda Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast where he was responsible for the delivery of personalised customer service from Caboolture to Bundaberg. Since 2001, Scott has been a partner in a national finance broking firm, based on the Sunshine Coast.

Scott is also a Commissioner for Declarations in the state of Queensland.
